{my morning goo}

I have been drinking these for the past week or so and I am officially obsessed. I think my mouth starts watering when I wake up in the morning to get to this delicious goo! I really wish I had a magic bullet so I didn't have to pull out the blender every morning...I just can't justify spending the money on it right now. There are shoes and handbags to buy people!!!

Here is the recipe, I use Trader Joes Vanilla Rice milk so it is gluten free, I tried hemp milk but it made it spicy, me no likey...

Green Goo:
1 cup Trader Joes Vanilla Rice Milk
1.5-2 cups spinach
1/2 frozen banana
3-4 frozen strawberries
3-4 frozen peach slices
1 squirt of agave syrup
1 teaspoon of peanut butter

Blend and enjoy!!! I have tried several versions and this is my favorite. I sometimes use regular milk but blending makes it too frothy. I think I might add a little fat free yogurt to make it creamy as well.

What is your favorite smoothie concoction? Maybe if I have more smoothie recipes I can justify getting the Magic Bullet...

{Awkward...}

Friday night we went out to dinner with Whitney and John {holy moly is her baby bump cute as a bugs ear!!!} and had a hilarious encounter.

While we were waiting on our table Whit turns to me and says "Ummm, I think that is Nintendo Belt*" She is a magnet for this boy and sees him everywhere so of course it was him.

I point him out to Chad who proceeds to make fun of him, like every boy I dated, {and lets face it, I set him up for it, there are some wack jobs in my past} and I try to defend myself and convince Chad that 5 years ago when I dated him he wasn't the total tool that he looks to be sitting there- skinny, in all black and with his wife that has multicolored hair and a nose ring.

I think I did a good job of convincing Chad of my coolness and then Nintendo Belt left and went to the parking lot and rode off into the sunset in a, wait for it, VESPA. Alone.

Thanks a lot dude, you ARE a tool and Chad just won.

*Names withheld to protect the Innocent, a boy I dated right before Chad. We were dating and he dropped me like a hot potato, apparently he fell in love. Whatevs...

{It is well with my soul}

I got to eat dinner with my parents last night, it was impromptu and so very needed. It was good for my soul. Sometimes He knows JUST what you need, it is awe inspiring.

I had a pretty tough day yesterday and on my way home my daddy called me asking if we wanted to meet them in Athens for dinner. Why yes I do! I hadn't seen my parents since 4th of July weekend, they don't even live that far away! Chad has a busy weekend at work so I met them alone. Sometimes a girl just needs her mommy and daddy. With the love of my parents and Chad I know there is nothing I can't handle. We talked, prayed and I felt a sense of peace as I left {that is until I saw Chad when I got home and got upset again :) sometimes that boy just makes me emotional}.

I am so lucky to have the love of my parents, Chad, my family and most importantly, Christ, to get me through the tough times in life. I really do think that sometimes He give us struggles to remind us to lean on him, as tough as they are it will draw us closer to Him. In the words of Poochie "He makes us wait for the things that we desire to ensure that we do not desire these things greater than we desire Him." he's a smart one, that Poochie...

I heard this song while driving today, it is so perfect. I of course cried during the chorus {not safe while driving...}

So today's a new day, I will pray that I am strong enough to handle anything that comes my way. And today, I will have a little retail therapy.

I also got all of these delicious homegrown tomatoes from my Daddy's garden. We will be eating tomatoes for every meal!

I started with breakfast, 1 egg, 2 egg whites, cheese and a tomato- DELICIOUS!!!

{Old McDonald ain't got nothin' on us}

We are so awesome it hurts sometimes.

Last year I threw our two pumpkins in the corner of our yard because, lets face it, we are lazy {our Christmas tree may or may not be in our garage right now, just sayin'}

Now, look what happened!!! We will have pumpkins coming out the yin yang come fall...

{Is that poo in the pool???}

So our neighborhood pool closed the other day because of "contamination". That's just the Falls of Braselton way of saying there's poo in the pool.

I have to say that that is one of the nastiest things I have ever heard. Who poos in the pool and what parent just lets their kid do that and then leaves? Someone if my neighborhood that's who.

And that my friends is why I always drive to Judy and Johnny's house to go to the pool. We all know to use the bathroom, at least I hope the neighbors do when they sneak over :)

{You gotta know when to hold 'em}

Allison's take on the weekend:
I don't think we will becoming professional poker players any time soon. We had a BLAST in Biloxi with the Mullins and the Fowlers but aren't so good at casino games. We did play a little black jack and I LOVED the Wheel of Fortune slots but everything else confused me. The more beer Chad had the better he played, coincidence? I think not. At the end of the first night Chad felt the need to play one hand of $25 Black Jack and got Black Jack, twice!

We had to drive two cars and we split boys in one and girls in the other. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip, I loved catching up with these girls. We had some pool time, Chad and Chris played golf, ate some good food and just had fun with each other. It was a great weekend but I am EXHAUSTED now.

I hope to get more pictures {hint hint Mandy and Jayme :)} but these will have to do for now.

Chad's take on the weekend:
I will admit that it seemed on the surface that the more beer I drank the better blackjack player I became; but there is a fine line you walk with that, and at one point I thought the dealer had dealt me 5 cards and I was playing poker...turns out my eyes were playing tricks on me; and when the point came when I looked down at my cards and shouted "uno" I knew it was time to go to the room..

I would also like to send out a little recommendation if any one is looking for a good place to play golf near Biloxi the town of Ocean Springs should be your destination.  My golfing companion and I were thrown off with how over the top nice everyone at this course acted toward us; it was like we made their day by coming to play golf at their course.... It was a great feeling but an uneasy one at that; I watch way too many movies and I had convinced myself that i was in the movie Wickerman and that this town was going to sacrifice us at dawn for next years crop; turns out they were just good people.
