{Grandmama}

My Grandmama passed away yesterday afternoon and I am heartbroken. I am so sad and joyful at the same time, mostly sad though. I am joyful that she is not suffering anymore, she has been sick for a very long time, it is just so hard to let the people you love go. In honor of Grandmama, one of the most amazing people EVER, I am going to celebrate her life.

She was the most beautiful Grandmama in the WHOLE world, I think she was prettier than me at my wedding.

She drops f bombs, says titties and says whatever is on her mind.

She was a mother at 15 and was a grandmother at 35. No wonder she was so hip and with it!

She LOVED Elvis. She saw him in concert, on the front row and got one of his scarfs!

She was married 4 times, never widowed, and each one of them loved her until the day they died.
She instilled in us the importance of family. There will be a huge hole in our family now, she was the center, that will NEVER be replaced.

She cut hair my whole life. She owned a shop in Covington, Peggy's Coiffures, and she cut my hair- and permed it.

I love her so much and am so sad that she is gone. I am so glad that she got to know Chad over the past 4 years but still ache knowing she will never know my children. My heart is broken right now, as is my whole family's, I hope we can celebrate the amazing life she had in a way that will honor her like she deserves.

{Black out Bama}

I am so pumped for this weekend, there aren't enough words. After this LONG, draining week I am looking forward to sporting some black and kicking Alabama into next month. Kirk Herbstreet {hello hottie} will be there as will all of those people who called in sick to work all week so they would have enough gas to make it to Athens.

I am PUMPED.

The Auburn game last year was so amazing, the black out really works. AND the new outfits are a nice change:) I hear that Alabama is going to White it Out. Are you joking, that is like the least scary color EVER. I guess Saban wants to show off his fake bake tan more, white should do it.

Lets not even get into the fact that USC lost last night. This will be an interesting weekend. I only have one thing to say:

Glory glory to 'ole GEORGIA!

{Distractions}

I am quite distracted today. My Grandmama is not doing well, the doctors recommended putting her in hospice care. It was nice to spend the day with her yesterday. We talked politics, she asked for an absentee ballot, discussed the latest issue of People and just hung out. I think she understands what is going on, we all came for a visit yesterday, even my brother from Macon. Now we are just waiting, and it SUCKS.

Chad and I had another tennis match last night, much nicer opponents than Monday. But we lost, shocker I know.

Drum roll please....tonight is my 5k. I have been thinking about this for FOREVER, I can't believe it is in a few hours. I hope I don't vomit!

{Prayers}

Today we got some heartbreaking news. My Grandmama has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and the diagnosis is grave. Tonight I pray that all of my friends out in blogland, ones I know in real life and ones that just know me as Preppy Haze, to lift up your hearts and pray that Preppy  Grandmama's diagnosis changes.

Hearing my daddy cry is the worst sound in the world.

{Yes she CAN!}

{Gossip Girl and Lilly Ads}

I LOVE Gossip Girl, I think it is the smartest written show on TV. I am not exaggerating or trying to be funny, Blair is a riot! We were able to watch last night since our tennis match was over by 8:00, we started at 7:00 people. The jackass we played was kind enough to tell us we ranked ourselves to high. Thanks dude, losing 6-3 & 6-0 kind of clued us in on that...I thought Chad was going to kill him...

If you watch Gossip Girl you MUST check out this NY Magazine article. They write each week recapping the episode from the night before and it is pee in your pants funny! Check it out.

I got this email from Lilly yesterday, I love their adds. I can so picture Chad and me {with a sweet little Cockapoo instead of labs} in this picture, I think Chad would wear it!

{Happy Autumn}

We had a wonderful weekend, it just went by too fast. We ate dinner with Chad's parents on Friday night and then we watched Baby Mama. That movie is HILARIOUS! I really like it, I was surprised.

On Saturday I went and celebrated sweet little Kaleigh's 1st birthday. I can't believe she is a year old! She had the cutest lady bug party, so fun! I made some chili and we drank some pumpkin ale as we cheered the Dawgs to victory. Well, Chad made it though the 1st half but the second half I was cheering them alone...

We have our first T2 match tonight. I wanted to practice yesterday but Chad could not pull himself away from the Ryder Cup so we didn't get any practice in. This week should be busy, 2 tennis matches and I have a 5k on Thursday. I don't think that will go very well...not exactly been running a lot lately...Oh well.

I can't wait for the weekend, we are going to cheer on the Dawgs this weekend in the BLACKOUT!!!

{Wedding Recap}

I am very blessed to have an amazing group of friends from high school. There are about 12-15 of us that have all kept in touch and are really good friends, even after 10 years! The girls have a super club that meets once a month and the guys all play poker together all of the time. We have left the drama behind and now just enjoy each other's company. We are also blessed by the fact that our friends have married good people. Now the group is just growing and I find myself with even more good girlfriends then before! They have accepted Chad and I think he really enjoys hanging out with them! The wedding this past weekend was for Erik {whom I have been friends with since 10th grade} and Caroline. Caroline worked with my good friend Mandy and introduced them, the rest is history! This weekend was SO fun. We all hung out at the pool, went out to dinner, the guys played golf and I snuck in some spa time. Now we just need someone else to get married at the beach so we can do it again!

{Erik and Caroline are MARRIED!}

We spent last Thursday through Sunday in Florida celebrating Erik and Caroline's wedding and it was WONDERFUL! We had the best time, it was so hard to come back to the real world of high gas prices, a volatile stock market and the election coverage...

Here is a teaser from our weekend, I will post more once I get all of my pictures uploaded, these are all stolen from Katie.

{ESPN is no fan of the Bulldogs}

So in the game against Central Michigan Knowshawn Moreno made the most unbelievable play I have ever seen. I jumped and screamed and could not believe my eyes- he hurdled a Central Michigan player!

I was so impressed and I just knew this was going to make Sports Center and all the highlight reels. I mean come on, we are the #2 team and this is a heck of a play. Well, I stayed up late Saturday night to watch and nothing! All that ESPN talked about with the defensive touchdown we got and all they could say about it was how slow the guy ran. Are you kidding? We won 56-17, we hurdled a guy and we are ranked #2, in the nation. Whatever, I thought I was just paranoid. Guess not, looks like Yahoo agrees!!! Kirk Herbstreet, you are so stinkin' cute I don't want to dislike you. But I think I am about to have to start unless you give my Bulldogs the respect they rightfully deserve!

{30 Pounds- Gone FOREVER}

I am excited to share that this weekend I reached my 30 pound weight loss, I am half way there! To celebrate I went shopping, none of my clothes fit me, a tough problem to have, I know...I was working on a budget so I knew I had to shop smart. Well where does a girl on a budget who wants cute things go?? Target of course! I got 2 dresses and a pair of black shoes, all less than $80. I was pretty proud of myself! Here is what I got:
I am not able to fully embrace the patent leather craze. All I think of is my childhood and the shinny black shoes that I wore to church. I like these though because they are a nice mixture of suede and patent leather...

I have this on today and I have gotten tons of complements. And best of all, it is a {drum roll please...} MEDIUM!!!

{Happy Monday}

Hello all and happy Monday! The weekend was so relaxing and I am feeling like a new woman since I got an antibiotic and some nasal spray on Friday. We had a laid back weekend, watched the Dawgs {I am still amazed by Knowshawn's hurdle of the Central Michigan player!} and cleaned the house. We had a baby shower for a couple in our Sunday school class yesterday and are starting a new lesson using the book "Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs" by Emerson Eggerichs. I have had this book for a while and have been wanting to read it so I am really excited about it. We played the newlywed game and Chad and I have a nice, solid lead so it is ok we will miss this week. We also went to a new small group where they are studying the book as well. It is a group of couples who all have kids and one has even been married for 19 years, it is a little overwhelming with all of the kids but it is nice to get other couples prospectives on marriage, we are so young and have a lot to learn about life! This group also has the preacher in it so that is always a bonus!

I only have a 3 day work week this week since we are headed down to Florida for Erik and Caroline's wedding, I can't wait! I don't care if Ike is there with us, rain doesn't dampen Spa time!!!

I also wanted to share the link the Meghan McCain's blog. I have really enjoyed reading this over the past few days. While I was a Huckabee fan I do really like the McCain/Palin team and am excited about the direction our country is headed. So check out Meghan's blog, I really want this tshirt!!

{Under the weather, boo}

Chad and me tailgating, nice deodorant stains!
Chad, me, Cris and Poochie
{Cris and I have matching skirts on, they have G's embroidered on them!}
With my parents...
Miserably hot we left the game at the end of halftime and went to the Georgia Center and watched the remainder of the game in the AC!

I am feeling under the weather and stayed home from work today. I have a sinus infection and bronchitis, it must be fall because I always get a sinus infection in the fall and around Christmas. Since I am home today it gives me a great time to catch up on the blog!

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We went to my parents house on Friday and spent the weekend eating, drinking and enjoying each others company, it was wonderful! On Saturday we went to the Georgia game, where I swear it felt like we were watching the game on the sun. It was the hottest I have EVER been, horrible!

I learned how to knit this weekend so I am working on a pretty scarf for the winter and I inherited my mom's old sewing machine. I can't wait to start working on projects! We don't have much going on this weekend, I am happy to watch the UGA/Central Michigan game from the comfort of my air conditioned house! This time next week we will be at the beach for Erik and Caroline's wedding!!!

Gooooooo Dawgs! Sic em'
