{A special anniversary}

4 years ago today Chad asked me to marry him. I can't believe it has been that long! I never dated people for a long time, 7-8 months at one time was the longest my relationships ever were. I knew 2 months after dating him {this would be Round 2 of dating, when I was more mature :)} that he was "the one". We were engaged 10 months after we started dating and then married 10 months after that.


I love this man more than anything in the world. He is without the one that God made for me. He knows me so well- knows how to comfort me, love me and make me laugh better than anyone in the world.


July 13th 2005 was the first day of a life that was meant to be for me and I thank God every day for the life he has created for us.

{A new bowl and a new nephew}

Last night we went to a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls club in our area, I had never been to a fundraiser before. I had grand expectations, I have been watching the first season of The O.C. this week, yes I was expecting Vegas night. What can I say? It was fun though, and I got this amazing bowl in the silent auction. It is made by a local artist and we probably paid 4 times what it costs in his shop but if I bought it in his shop I couldn't take it off my taxes now could I? I think not...

We also welcomed a new member to the Eubanks family. This is our new nephew, he doesn't have a name yet but he is so darn cute! McKay has been begging for a dog, that is all we heard about at Easter so I am sure he is so excited. Well...as excited as a 14 year old can be. I am sure puppy and Jack will become fast friends too, they are the perfect small size to play together. I can't wait to meet him!

Last night 3/4's of the Hunt family met in Athens to celebrate Momma and Cris' birthdays. We all know how much I love that town so I was game for a trip. We ate the most delicious meal at DePalma's, the food and company was wonderful!

On Saturday we went to Athens for the final game of the season to cheer on the Bulldogs as they took on the BIG instate rival, Georgia Tech. To say that the conditions were miserable would be an understatement- cold AND rain, but the company was great! My 16 year old cousin went with us to the game, I am trying to sway her to go to UGA so I can live through her! The game was painful to say the least, it is brutal to loose to Tech. I knew that we would have the Sports Illustrated curse! I do love my Georgia Bulldogs and hate to see the season end but the was a painful season to watch, I sure do hope that there are a lot of changes over the next year...

After halftime my dawgs were SUCKING- Tech scored 21 points in six minutes! I have never seen Coach Richt pull the team together during a game...it didn't seem to work.

{Sweet baby Brody}

Meet sweet baby Brody, he is my cousin David's little boy and cute as can be! He was born earlier this year and when he was five weeks old he went to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta because of a high fever and was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

It took them a LONG time to figure out what was wrong with him {at one point the family turtle was sent packing because they were told Brody had salmonella from the family pet!} and it turned out he had a rare form of spinal bifida. Brody, David and Candace will be on the Star 94 Cares for Kids radiothon this week! This is a great organization so all of my Georgia peps should listen for him and give to this AMAZING hospital!

{GA/FL Weekend}

We had a great time with my parents this past weekend at the GA/FL game {besides the MASSACRE we took from Florida...}. We went to Jekyll Island and spent the weekend with Bulldog fans {I wore my Dawgs for McCain pin all weekend!}. I loved this gator fan's orange and blue overalls, and it is true GATOR FANS WEAR JEAN SHORTS!

{The worlds LARGEST Cocktail party?!?}

Tomorrow morning we leave to go cheer on the Dawgs in Jacksonville. For some reason the GA/FL game is played on a neutral field {how Jacksonville is neutral is beyond me, it is an hour and a half from Gainesville, FL!} and has been named the Worlds Largest Cocktail party. We don't go to Jacksonville and stay but rather St. Simons/Jekyll Island and let me tell you, it is a BLAST! There are only Bulldog fans and it is packed! We are going with my parents and will be staying on Jekyll Island this year. We don't even have to drive to the game, a bus will take us and drop us off right outside the stadium, mobile tailgating!!!

I hope the Dawgs do good, this will be a tough game!!

Oh my, I loved WICKED!!! It was so funny, I was not expecting that! We had a wonderful girls night out. We ate dinner at Baraonda and then headed over to the Fox for the show. I highly recommend seeing it if it comes to your town, I would now LOVE to see if on Broadway, hopefully next time I am in the city there won't be a strike!

{Workin' for the Weekend!}

It is a cold and dreary Friday here in the ATL, happy fall! I had a wonderful "bloggy lunch" with my good friend Jessica who writes the blog Life is What Happens When You are Busy Planning It, she is a wonderful writer and her little girl Malia is SOOOO cute. Go check her out!

I am so excited for this weekend. We are headed over to our friends' house tomorrow to cheer on the Bulldogs as they travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU. We should have a good time, I get to play with TWO of my friends little girls, I will have to take TONS of pictures. And on Sunday I will be keeping the nursery at church for the first time, 1 year old walkers, this should be interesting!!!

And on Sunday night we have a girls night planed. My mom, sister-in-laws and myself are headed to the Fox Theater to see WICKED!! I can't wait, I have heard nothing but wonderful things.

{Baby, its cold outside!}

Well, it is finally fall. We had the windows open last night and I froze! Charlotte won't even go out on the cold grass. And...we turned our heat on this morning! I love the smell of the first time the heat runs after the spring and summer.

Chad made dinner last night! He made the Cooking Light Meatloaf and some garlic mashed potatoes {they were the Publix brand instant Garlic mashed potatoes and they were DELICIOUS!!!!} It was such a treat to come home and have dinner made, and yummy comfort food at that. I think I will keep him around. :)

We had a wonderful time cheering the Dawgs to victory as they beat the Vandy Commodores yesterday at Homecoming. My Uncle Charlie and cousin David came with us and it was a blast! Since it was an early game I made us a yummy, early morning snack, Pineapple Bacon Wraps, they were delicious with my Tuscan Tangerine and Grapefruit Michelob Ultra!

Pineapple Bacon Wraps

Loaf of White bread, crusts removed

Container of Pineapple Cream Cheese

Toothpicks

• Cut the crusts off of all of the bread
  
• Spread cream cheese over the entire slice and then split into thirds
• Roll up slice, wrap with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick
• Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 30-40 minutes, the bread needs to be toasty and the bacon cooked.
• Enjoy!

This weekend we are headed to Athens to cheer on the Bulldogs as they play Tennessee. We haven't won in Athens since 2002. I remember that game, my cousin and her hubby were in town and I was a Senior {well, lets say 1/2 a senior since I didn't graduate until the next December}. The UGA fans that sat around us were HORRIBLE. They taunted my cousin and her husband, threw things and them and were just plain rude. And we were not in the student section but rather the ALUMNI section! It was so horrible that I wrote a letter to the Alumni Association about how incredibly embarrassed I was to be a student if these were the alumni. Yes, I did do that, I get my letter writing passion from my dad. The next game they made an announcement over the loud speaker to be polite to our guest and treat everyone with respect, I like to think I had something to do with that!

This weekend we will be tailgating with my parents {with a few trips to visit friends throughout the day} and the menu sounds divine! My mom will be frying up some chicken tenders and I am bringing Pimento Cheese. We will be eating good! I haven't tried this recipe before but it is from Bobby Deen so you know it has to be good!

Bobby’s Pimento Cheese from Paula Deen

1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature

1 cup grated sharp cheddar

1 cup grated Monterrey Jack

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 teaspoon House Seasoning, recipe follows

2 to 3 tablespoons pimentos, smashed

1 teaspoon grated onion

Cracked black pepper

Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add all of the remaining ingredients and beat until well blended. It can be used as a dip for crudites or as a sandwich filling.

Paula Deen's House Seasoning

1 cup kosher salt
1/4 cup fresh ground black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder

Directions
1Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

{Grandmama}

My Grandmama passed away yesterday afternoon and I am heartbroken. I am so sad and joyful at the same time, mostly sad though. I am joyful that she is not suffering anymore, she has been sick for a very long time, it is just so hard to let the people you love go. In honor of Grandmama, one of the most amazing people EVER, I am going to celebrate her life.

She was the most beautiful Grandmama in the WHOLE world, I think she was prettier than me at my wedding.

She drops f bombs, says titties and says whatever is on her mind. 

She was a mother at 15 and was a grandmother at 35. No wonder she was so hip and with it!

She LOVED Elvis. She saw him in concert, on the front row and got one of his scarfs!

She was married 4 times, never widowed, and each one of them loved her until the day they died.

She instilled in us the importance of family. There will be a huge hole in our family now, she was the center, that will NEVER be replaced.

She cut hair my whole life. She owned a shop in Covington, Peggy's Coiffures, and she cut my hair- and permed it.

I love her so much and am so sad that she is gone. I am so glad that she got to know Chad over the past 4 years but still ache knowing she will never know my children. My heart is broken right now, as is my whole family's, I hope we can celebrate the amazing life she had in a way that will honor her like she deserves.

{Distractions}

I am quite distracted today. My Grandmama is not doing well, the doctors recommended putting her in hospice care. It was nice to spend the day with her yesterday. We talked politics, she asked for an absentee ballot, discussed the latest issue of People and just hung out. I think she understands what is going on, we all came for a visit yesterday, even my brother from Macon. Now we are just waiting, and it SUCKS.

Chad and I had another tennis match last night, much nicer opponents than Monday. But we lost, shocker I know.

Drum roll please....tonight is my 5k. I have been thinking about this for FOREVER, I can't believe it is in a few hours. I hope I don't vomit!

{Prayers}

Today we got some heartbreaking news. My Grandmama has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and the diagnosis is grave. Tonight I pray that all of my friends out in blogland, ones I know in real life and ones that just know me as Preppy Haze, to lift up your hearts and pray that Preppy  Grandmama's diagnosis changes. 

Hearing my daddy cry is the worst sound in the world.

{Preacher Poochie}

Last night I went to Cris and Poochie's house for a little shin dig celebrating Poochie. He is about to start seminary at Asbury and he just got a new job at Chick-fil-a. He works in the Chick-fil-a headquarters doing some sort of nerdy thing with computers, not sure what. I do know that he gets lunch for free everyday. Hello, I would be 500 pounds if I got to each Chick-fil-a everyday. Yes, I already asked, it does included the crack laced milkshakes. YUM! It was so fun to hang out with the fam last night, my parents and Cris' parents came as well. 

Way to go Poochie, we are all so proud of you and love you bunches!!

{Wicked}

Not sure if all my Georgia peaches know this but Wicked is coming to the Fox in October! I am so excited, my Daddy offered to pay for the Hunt girls to go see it. We were going to see it when we took our girls trip to NYC last November but it was during the Broadway strike so we missed it {the strike ended the day we left!} . The Fox will be much cheaper than the Broadway tickets, we are really saving him money...what good wife, daughter and daughter-in-laws are we?

I am so excited, I can't wait to go. Thank you thank you thank you Daddy!!!

{TGIF}

I am so glad it is Friday. This has been a crazy week, so glad to go home in 3 hours...

We have NOTHING planed for this weekend, I am ecstatic! I hope it rains all weekend and I can read books and watch movies in my p.j.'s with the hubs and Charlotte. I just signed up for Netflix {how behind the times am I??} And have The Other Boleyn Girl and Atonement at home. The Other Boleyn Girl is probably one of the best books I have ever read, I couldn't put it down, so I am excited to see the movie.

We will be going to Wally World to get the patio furniture I have had my eye on. Then the patio should be complete! I will be sure to post an updated picture of the flowers, there are about 4-5 hydrangea blooms, and they are pink and green!

{Bad case of the Mondays}

Hello all. I am quite sad to be at the office today, I love these summer hours- leaving at 1:00 on Friday makes the weekend seem so much longer! We had a jam packed weekend, it was wonderful!

• I checked out the Braselton library for the first time on Friday afternoon- too cute! I got a couple of books and 2 books on tape. I have never listened to a book on tape before, I LOVE to read so I thought I would be missing out on something. Not the case, AT ALL. I have an hour or more commute each way so this is the perfect solution! Right now I am listening to Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews, SO CUTE!! Since my wedding reception was in Madison and my parents live down there is holds a special place in my heart.
  



• Laid out with Lauren at the Traditions pool. Love this neighborhood, such pretty houses!



• Got a mani and a pedi, I don't love my toes and fingers unless they are BRIGHT red!



• Strolled though the Braselton Antique stores, saw about a millions things I can't live without. Well, I guess I can live without them, I didn't buy a thing!



• Cooked out and chilled in the backyard with Charlotte and a yummy Gin and Tonic on Saturday night. We watched Finding Amanda on pay per view, it isn't out yet but had a GREAT cast. It was a good movie, had some hilarious lines!

• Played golf with the in laws on Sunday afternoon at The University of Georgia course. I shot a 122, not bad for the 3 time I have ever played!! My goodness are Chad and Clay intense about this game!



• Looked at a Civic Hybrids and a Prius. Keeping our fingers crossed that the used Prius we found will still be available tomorrow when Chad goes to talk to them! It is hard to believe that we would save money if we got this car...stupid gas guzzling SUV.

Oh, and by the way...the cleaning crew came on Friday and my house is AMAZING! I don't think it has ever been this clean. Everything is so shiny! I highly recomend Razzle Dazzle!
