{A club we don't belong to}

"You don't understand but you will when you have kids..."
If I hear that one more time I might scream! There is a club in the married couples world and it takes the ultimate commitment to join, kids. Once you join that is all you can talk about, all you can think about and the only think to make conversation about when you are in a social setting. We are not in the club, we will not join this club any time soon...and I don't really care about your child's bathroom habits or how long you had to push, if you tore, etc. If you would like me to have kids, please leave this to yourself- you are freaking me out! We were at a cookout this weekend where we were the only ones without kids. Poor Chad, he knows all about bedtimes, pooping and our friends C sections. I thought the girls were bad, the guys were worst! We get the comment all of the time that we don't understand what they are talking about but we will once we have kids. I think I can comprehend, I do have a cockapoo...I would hate for anything bad to happen to her! I do have 2 very good friends that have had babies in the past year and I like hearing there stories, I love these girls and I want to hear about their births and things that are going on in their new mommy world. I do not want to know this much about people I have known since January, you are correct, I don't understand. I just don't want to be talked down to and have it pointed out, that's all I'm asking!

I can SOOOO relate to this! In fact my friend and I were *just* talking about this very subject this morning because she was the only one at a baby shower this weekend without kids. We were laughing at how that's ALL they can talk about. And when they realize you don't have any, it's like they don't know how to converse with you and they move on to someone else. Too funny... I want kids, but I hope to never be like that!!!
